Learn How You Can Drive Again After Stroke

Expert Driving Rehab Specialist, Judy Otto, will be presenting information related to Driving After Stroke and she will be available to answer any questions you may have.

                               Saturday, November 29th
                                                  2-4pm
at the New Orleans Healing Center
2372 St. Claude Ave in New Orleans.

We will be meeting in room 254 located on the second floor across from Magnolia.
To find our classroom take the stairs to the second floor or take the elevator and get off on 2L.

Light refreshments and beverages will be provided.

In addition to street parking, the Healing Center has a parking lot available in the back of the building.

Curious if you may be eligible for driving? Refer to this information from Judy's website,

"Clients include individuals who are free of medical conditions that would make them unsafe to drive (i.e. seizure free for six months or longer, not taking medications that make you drowsy, etc.).
They should be able to transfer into our specially adapted vehicle and sit behind the wheel of the car with minimal to moderate assistance to participate. Clients with a driver’s license must have a clear license to participate in the in-car portion of the assessment or any recommended training (i.e. not under suspension or revocation). Any suspensions/revocations must be cleared prior to getting in the vehicle. Individuals without a driver’s license can participate in training with a learner’s permit. Finally clients can include someone with:
  • Physical disability
  • Cognitive disability
  • Mental disability
  • Older adults who may be at risk for being involved in or causing a crash
  • People with low vision

Clients must have medical clearance and a Louisiana physician’s prescription to participate in the program.
